Saudi women with attractive eyes may be forced…

The following was submitted on an exclusive private network:

(An article i liked to share from yahoo)

[Saudi women with attractive eyes may be forced to cover them up under a new law in the country.

The ultra-conservative Islamic state has said it has the right to stop women revealing ‘tempting’ eyes in public.

A proposal to enshrine the measure in law has been tabled, Daily Mail reported Saturday quoting Sheikh Motlab al Nabet, spokesperson for Saudi Arabia’s Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice.

Women in Saudi Arabia already have to wear a long black cloak, called an abaya, cover their hair and, in some regions, conceal their faces while in public.

If they do not, they face punishments including fines and public floggings.

The proposal was made after a member of the committee was attracted by a woman’s eyes as he walked along a street, provoking a fight, one report on the Bikya Masr news website suggested.

The woman was walking with her husband who ended up being stabbed twice in the hand after the altercation.

The virtue and vice committee has repeatedly been accused of human rights violations. Founded in 1940, its function is to ensure that Islamic laws are not broken in public in Saudi Arabia.

In 2002, the committee refused to allow female students out of a burning school in the holy city of Mecca because they were not wearing correct head cover. The decision is thought to have contributed to the high death toll of 15.

They are also banned from driving by religious edict and cannot travel without authorisation from their male guardians.]

I would love to hear your opinions & views. The floor is now open for your comments.

Recent gas exploration

Recent gas exploration activity in the south east region of the Arabian desert uncovered a skeletal remains of a human of phenomenal size. This region of the Arabian Desert is called the Empty Quarter , or in Arabic, ‘Rab-Ul-Khalee’.

The discovery was made by the Aramco Exploration team. As Allah states in the Quran that He had created people of phenomenal size the like of which He has not created since. These were the people of Aad where Prophet HUD was sent. They were very tall, big, and very powerful, such that they could put their arms around a tree trunk and uproot it. Later these people, who were given all the power, turned against Allah and the Prophet and transgressed beyond all boundaries set by Allah.

As a result they were destroyed. Ulema’s of Saudi Arabia believe these to be the remains of the people of Aad. Saudi Military has secured the whole area and no one is allowed to enter except the ARAMCO personnel. See the attachment and note the size of the two men standing in the picture in comparison to the size of the skeleton.

Pictures like these make you smile

With the Dome of the Rock Mosque seen in the background, a Palestinian Muslim worshiper prays during the third Friday prayers of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem’s Old City on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010.

A young Palestinian Muslim girl walks in an alley of Jerusalem’s old city holding a traditional Ramadan lantern while celebrating with other children the announcing of the holy month of Ramadan on Tuesday, Aug. 10 2010.

Muslim pilgrims pray inside the Grand Mosque, with the Mecca Clock in the background, on the second day of the fasting month of Ramadan in Mecca August 12, 2010. The giant clock on a skyscraper in Islam’s holiest city Mecca began ticking on Wednesday at the start of the fasting month of Ramadan, amid hopes by Saudi Arabia that it will become the Muslim world’s official timekeeper.

Thousands of Muslims circle the Kaaba inside the Grand Mosque in Islam’s holiest city of Mecca, taking part in dawn (fajir) prayers on August 29, 2010.

Shop owner Boualem Bensalem (left) prays in his flat with family and friends before for Iftar meal in Geneva, Switzerland on August 23, 2010. Switzerland is home to some 311,000 Muslims (4.3% of the population). I truly love to see families gathering like this. It’s beautiful!

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia National Day Dinner Party

3:45pm. Bored outta my mind. Waiting for the event to start at 5:30pm.

The room was BEAUTIFUL!!! We all mingled with each other until Hong Kong’s Chief Executive arrived to give his speech along with the Saudi Consul General.

The homie Samer worrying his ass off before the presentation he had to give to the Chief Executive. He doesn’t look impressed.

Omar attempts to cheer him up.

Consul General arrives.

There he is. Donald with the bow tie arrives. It amazes me how this little man manages to run Hong Kong with such style. He’s a genius!

Explaining strategic refinery locations in Asia. Donald was impressed. Bet he didn’t have a clue what we did in his Hong Kong.

Best part of the night. The gift bag!

On the far left we have a small barrel of crude oil (Arab Extra Light from Saudi Arabia). In the middle we have a box of Saudi chocolates and a book that explains Sino-Saudi Relations. On the right we have a glass block with two horses laser embedded in 3D in the middle. Under that there is a leather business card holder. I would say that’s an overall yummy bag of treats!

Got home and tested out a new app on my iPhone. I say YES.

My trip to Saudi Arabia…

First order of business. Visit the heart of Saudi Aramco for training. This is a computer screen from the floor to the ceiling which wraps around the whole room and where every drop of oil in the Kingdom is controlled. Every pipe. Every ship. Which products get filled on to these massive ships. Which ships are floating on the outside waiting to be loaded with oil and various other products. It’s controlled via mouse and keyboard. Do you see how awesome this is? Here are some more pics:

In the evenings there was no such thing as clubbing or partying. We would head out into the desert and chill in a tent which included the following: Shishas, TV, Wifi, Playstation, Airconditioning, etc etc… The following picture is of a friend’s tent we visited while we were there. He’s the son of a FIFA executive. You know what that means? He is HOOKED UP!

The next day after work, we decided that we deserved “Kharoof Mahshee” for lunch. And so we went. This is making me drool right now. It’s Ramadan and I’m fasting. Just remembering the taste is killing me. It was AMAZING!

Ok. So all of this was in an area of Saudi called Dammam. Basically this is where Aramco’s headquarters are based. Anyhow, over the weekend me and my friend decided that I couldn’t leave Saudi without doing a Umra (small pilgrimage to Mecca). This wasn’t my first time, but I was excited to re-visit “Bait Allah”. So off we go…

As we waited to board the plane, I ran into “fulla”. She’s the Muslim Barbie and this is her perfume. Ish is wack!

After landing in Jeddah, my friend was kind enough to ask his driver to take me alone to Mecca to perform my Umra. And that huge Quran holder is the entrance to Mecca.

As I enter the front doors of the Haram. There is a long corridor leading directly to the Kabba. As soon as my eyes met the Kabba, I began ballin’. So hard. The tears just wouldn’t stop but I was smiling and so my Umra began.

Once the Umra was over. I said my farewell and walked out the front doors to find a barber shop to snip my hair. But I found this monster of a building outside. Apparently this is a hotel that recently opened. It has a prayer hall that can accommodate 60,000 people. So you can see the Kabba from above and pray in the airconditioning. I don’t recommend it, but you can.

After the drive back to Jeddah. My friend ordered me an amazing lunch from a local fast food chain called “Al Baik”. It’s the KFC of Saudi Arabia. But it puts KFC to shame. You will never step foot in another KFC again in your life after you try this chicken. Oh and do you notice the old school bottle of coke? In Hong Kong this bottle design is like a collectors item. Hahahaa.

On our way to the seaside for a shisha.

How chill is that? Sit back on these chilled couches. Puff your shisha as you sip on mint tea and listen to the sound of the sea. Beautiful. The next day we were flying back to attend a conference for young professionals (that’s me). So we headed over to a turkish beard shaving shop. My God do they know what they’re doing. They cleaned me up real good and we headed back to Dhahran.

I’m really actually a good photographer but I snapped this real quick as the car was flying down the highway. This is a new building which will run solely on the sun. Using one of our joint ventures (Showa Shell) solar CIS technology, these solar cells will keep this building and the city around it lit up in the evening. AMAZING!

This is where the conference was held. It’s an amazing place. Seriously. Very Saudi. Anyhow, on day 2 of the conference, an old friend who used to work in Aramco’s Hong Kong office called me up and invited me to visit his family for dinner. Home cooked food is always a bonus.

These are his little muffins. This little girl is called “Lina”. Lina is AWESOME and so is her name. It means “baby palm tree”. Love it! She was my next door neighbour in Hong Kong and she used to come over and chill for a while everyday. Cute head.

Why the hell would you give me two double beds when I’m alone in this room? Huh? I would have been just fine with a king size. Oh well. This is my hotel room. This is where I met “Sima”. Wow that’s an amazing story all on it’s own.

My workstation.

Chillin’ area.

First order. Two grilled haloumi sandwiches with salad. spectacular!

For some reason I missed HK for a second so I decided to order Arabic style Chinese noodles with chicken and vegetables. I’m strange like that.

Yea baby yeah! Club sandwich with fries and some drink. Epic taste for lunch. And that’s the end of my short story. Hope y’all enjoyed the journey.

I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for refugees, I write award-winning operas, I manage time efficiently. Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row.

I woo women with my sensuous and godlike trombone playing, I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook Thirty-Minute cookies in twenty minutes. I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love, and an outlaw in Peru.

Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello, I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I'm bored, I build large suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang gliding. On Wednesdays, after work, I repair electrical appliances free of charge.

I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy eveningwear. I do not perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. I have been caller number nine and have won the weekend passes. Last summer I toured Albania with a travelling centrifugal-force demonstration. My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me.

I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening. I know the exact location of every food item in the supermarket. I have performed several covert operations for the BBC. I sleep once a week; when I do sleep, I sleep in a chair. While on holiday in Australia, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. The laws of physics do not apply to me.

I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid. On weekends, to let off steam, I participate in full-contact origami. Years ago I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four course meals using only a mouli and a toaster oven. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis.
